You may have noticed that I haven’t been sending out as many Tips lately. I’ll admit that I have been going through a reframing of the work I do and what I want to share.

At the base of what I’ve been examining is my feeling that something gets lost when the primary focus is on money. This may seem odd coming from someone whose book is all about money. But my book is really about you and your relationship to yourself and the world around you. And money is the symbol of those relationships.

So where do I think the focus needs to be? The phrase that keeps coming to my mind is “Spirit first.” What that means to me is that what matters most is our connection to the more of life — that which lies beyond our individual selves where we are energetically joined. 

By understanding this connection, we can tap into the energy flow of all that is and access the source of the life energy that flows through all of us. By increasing our awareness of our source of power and using it consciously, we can the lives filled with love, inner peace, and prosperity. .

When you focus on money, you are focusing on the external. Yet the power to manifest comes from within. Focus on your inner power and you’ll move towards success. As you unleash your inner power, you income will automatically expand.

There was a program on CNN about the people on wall street who make millions and millions of dollars at hedge funds and other financial firms. They focus primarily on money, make huge amounts of it, while living high-energy lives filled with booze, drugs, and lots of what would be considered by many to be bad behavior. They have large amounts of money and the things that money can buy, but their lives are empty.

What do I suggest you focus on instead of making more money?

• Bringing more love, caring, and sharing into you life. Instead of focusing on what you can get, think about what you can give.
• Spending quite time with yourself being instead of doing
• Being grateful for what you have. I love the saying “A man with no shoes is glad he has his feet.”
• Smiling at everyone you see.
• Getting in touch with and releasing the emotions that you are acting out through your money so there is room for your creative spirit to shine through and for financial energy to come to you.

These things feed your spirit. As your spirit soars, your needs will be met. All you have to do is trust that this is so.
